Christmas Delivery

Bikes

Our last day for dispatch is Thursday the 22nd of December. We use a next day/express courier for bikes, such as DPD or TNT/Fedex. All couriers are experiencing some delays at the moment so nothing is guaranteed, but these services are intended as a next day service and have been largely delivering as such.

If a bike is ordered before 12pm, we will do our very best to dispatch it on the same day. Again, this is not a guarantee, but we will do our best! If we can't dispatch on the same day, we will dispatch the next working day. Please bear in mind that we are closed on Wednesdays, so no orders are processed or dispatched on those days.

We fully assemble your bike before delivery as though you were going to ride it away from the shop. To get it back into a box for the courier, there is some minor disassembly such as removing pedals and handlebars.

Smaller Items

For pre-Christmas we now strongly recommend you upgrade from our standard post (Royal Mail 48) to either Royal Mail 24 or DPD. Royal Mail have indicated that the last day for Royal Mail 24 should be the 16th, but even that is not guaranteed. To give the best chance of pre-Christmas delivery, we recommend selecting the DPD option.

If your item is in stock and ordered before 12pm, we will do our best to despatch your order the day you place it. Please bear in mind that we are closed on Wednesdays, so no orders are processed or dispatched on those days.

Delivery Information

UK Delivery

If your item is in stock and ordered before 12pm, we will do our best to despatch your order the day you place it. In busy times we tell you how long it will take us to process it.

The above does not apply to bikes, which we have to assemble and inspect before repacking for dispatch. Typically we try to have bike orders dispatched within 3-5 days, but in busier times it may take longer. In those cases we'll let you know of longer than expected delivery times.

Please bear in mind that we are closed on Wednesdays, so no items will be dispatched then.

Free Postage over £40 on small items

For small items we use Royal Mail's 48 service which has a delivery time of typically 2-3 days from dispatch; though you do have the option to upgrade to 24 which is generally next-day from dispatch if you require your order sooner. Please note in some cases the item will need to be signed for, so please provide an address where someone will be in.

Orders of over £40 will qualify for free standard postage with Royal Mail 48. This excludes certain bulky or awkward items (for example shoes and helmets) which will be calculated automatically at the basket screen. Unless stated otherwise, bikes also do not qualify for free postage. Please see below for details on that.

Bike Shipping

When we send out a larger parcel such as a bike or trailer we use a tracked courier such as TNT's next-day service.

For these reasons please supply us with a delivery address where there will be someone in to sign for your parcel. If there is nobody in when the couriers call, they will leave a card. You can then phone them to arrange delivery for another day or collect your goods from your local depot (a photo ID with proof of address will be required).

Outside the UK

Since Brexit it is no longer feasible for our website to have permanent shipping prices for international delivery. Instead, if there is an item you are interested in, please Contact Us with a full delivery address and we will quote for delivery.

All the prices on our website and catalogue are in pounds sterling and are inclusive of VAT, but VAT will be removed for international orders. Please bear in mind you will likely have to pay your country's taxes and import duties for any items.

We know that many lead busy lifestyles and can't make it to the shop to browse during opening hours, so we've made it easy for you to browse online in the comfort of your own home. You can use the click and collect option to place an order at any time, any day, before collecting from the store at a time that suits you.

How do you do it? It's simple. Add the items you want to your cart, and then select the **collect in store** option below once you're on the basket screen:

Go through the checkout and pay for your items via our secure server. Once the order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. As soon as we're able we'll be in touch by phone or email to confirm with you when your items are available to collect. This could be practically instant, or it could take a few hours/days depending on the item.

If an item you have ordered is unavailable or delayed for whatever reason, we will of course let you know by the usual means of communication.

Once you're ready to collect your items, please bring your confirmation email with you (stored on a smartphone or printed), along with proof of ID (passport or driving license) and the card used to purchase.

Every year I make the long journey to the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg, Germany. My mission... to find new quality, innovative products to add to our range.

The toy fair is a dream come true for a big kid like me. From the minute you get off the plane and into the baggage collection point you are greated by YODA, R2D2, BOBAFET and DARTH VADER all made out of LEGO.

Being a huge Star Wars fan this gets me excited... shame it was 11:30pm and I still had the 1 hour long drive to Gunzenhausen to our hotel to get some kip before the 1st day of the show.

Every year exhibitors at the International Toy Fair are invited to enter their latest and most creative toys for the ToyAward. A jury of experts awards the prize to the most outstanding products among the entries.

I was pleased to see that our friends at Micro scooped a prize in the Baby & Infant category for the Mini Micro 3 in 1 . We will be stocking these very soon.

The Mini Micro and seat brings mobility for one-year-olds. And what is really special: the scooter can metamorphose and grow with its owner. For the youngest it comes with a seat and handlebar, so they are all set to start racing. Once the little racers get older - take away the seat and install the T-bar and the Mini Micro turns into a 'real' scooter.  The three wheels provide safety and stability. Steering requires the shifting of the body weight which at the same time trains the kids' motor skills and sense of balance. But the scooter is not only fun, the Micro design makes it a real eye-catcher as well.

With the increasing popularity of smart phones and tablets and the amazing gaming apps that are available for them. It's no wonder that the companies behind board games have had to change their game a little. Another prize winner is this example of board game meets ipad - I had a go with one and I can confirm it is a great bit of tech.

Appmates by Spin Master International is one of the first toys interacting with the iPad. And it is quite simple: Download a free app with the game from the App Store, move one of the colorful cars from the trendy Disney Cars series onto the touchscreen and off you go... Of course, the game won't hurt the iPad's touchscreen. Whether racing along the highway, making a pit-stop at the garage or at the gas station - this app is a fun way of making kids more skillful. The keen driver will learn by playing including how to master the latest technology - a combination that convinced the jury.

Micro are launching a new product in March 2012 - The Pedal Flow - The folding aluminium vehicle is the latest innovation from the Kickboard inventor. It allows riders to cover short distances with simplicity and speed. With its simple folding design, it’s the ideal companion for getting to work or when visiting the city. It doesn’t require much space, and can be quickly stowed away under the seat in the train or tram. Simply unfold it again and it’s ready to ride and, in addition to this, it’s a lot of fun and a real eye catcher! Available in March 2012.

Micro had a prototype scooter on the stand. An electric scooter - capable of speeds up to .... and with a range of up to 7km. This range can be extended by using it's regenerative braking function. I had a go on it and I can confirm it is great fun. Another innovation is the way in which the speed of the scooter can be adjusted. There will be a smartphone app that you can download and use to alter the top speed. A handy feature considering the top speed that is available meaning both children and adults can use the scooter safely (well kind of :-)

Puky have been a feature in our showroom for years now. Puky are specialists in the childrens vehicle category, it's all they manufacture and have been doing so for over 60 years.

This year the product line up is as strong as ever. Here are some of the highlights that will be in our store soon.

The CEETY 2 in 1 Tricycle

The Go Kart

Myself, like so many other people. Visit the show looking for the next craze... what's dissapointing is most of the products you see at the show are copies.
